Bantam Girls Host Tournament
Drop by Riverview High School this weekend to cheer on the Bantam A Girls as they host 5 other teams at their home tournament. The girls will take on the Nelson Rural Raiders at 10am on Saturday and the Cape Breton Celtics at 5:30pm. Other teams at the tournament are Quispamsis Middle School, Harry Miller Middle School and Bedford Eagles.
The girls will be selling custom designed tournament t-shirts and fans may bid on great items at the silent auction or have a tasty treat at the canteen. We hope to see you there!
Bantam A Boys Win Bronze Medal
Congratulations to the Bantam A Boys’ team who outscored the Moncton Hawks to secure a bronze medal at their home tournament. Way to go Royals!
Bantam ‘A’ Girls’ T-shirt Fundraiser
As a fundraiser, the Bantam ‘A’ Girls’ are selling cool basketball t-shirts! These custom-designed shirts are available in red or black in youth or adult sizes. They would make a great Christmas surprise for your favourite basketball fan or player!
If you would like to place and order, please download the order form here, and look for team members at practices on Monday and Tuesday evening to take your order. Order forms may also be dropped off at Just Between Teens Clothing Store at Rick’s Plaza, 620 Coverdale Road.
Orders must be placed by Sunday, December 4th so we will have them back in time for Christmas. Payment is due when placing your order.
The Bantam Girls thank you for your support!
Mini A Girls Capture Silver at the “Moncton Hawks Tip Off Tournament”
The Mini Girls had to play an overtime period to beat the Kennebecasis Valley Slammers by a score of 39-38 to advance to the finals against The Slam out of St. Margrets Bay, Nova Scotia. The girls ended up losing to the Nova Scotia team in the finals but still earned Silver medals to add to this year’s collection. The Lady Royals had just earned a Bronze at their own tip off tournament two weeks ago with a win over the Lynx from Saint John, NB. The girls would like to thank all their supporters who came to cheer them on over the weekend.
The Royals will be hosting Sussex and East Saint John next weekend, and Moncton and KV on the following weekend before hitting the road to the Miramichi for a couple of games with the Tommies and Pulamoo on the 10th of December.
Winter is coming!
As the winter weather approaches, please keep in mind that RMBA events may be cancelled due to weather conditions.
If the schools are closed, community groups (like RMBA) do not have access to the facilities, and therefore no basketball activities will take place. Cancellations will be posted on our website as soon as possible. To learn if the gyms are closed you may also call the School District 2 Snow Line at 856-SNOW (856-7669). This is usually updated by 6:00 am.
This is not just for Monday – Fridays, but for weekends as well because the School District takes into consideration the safe travel of both its staff and the participants of the community activities.
