RHS Mentorship Program

Monday evening’s Mini House League, Mini A and B Provincial teams and the Girls Bantam A team all had special guests at their team practices. A group of girls from the Riverview High Varsity basketball squad were on hand helping out the coaches and players. The four RHS girls, all grade 12 seniors involved in a leadership class at Riverview High and members of the 3 time AAA provincial champion Varsity squad are part of a group involved in a inaugural mentorship program between the RMBA and High School.

These girls were helping out our House league and Provincial coaches with their teams in developing their players’ overall basic fundamentals and skills at the same time working closely, sometimes on a one on one basis, with the younger girls allowing the coaches to concentrate more on their overall practice. With last night’s overall success, these girls will be returning next week to loan their experience and talents again to our Mini and Bantam programs. A big thanks to the girls involved last night. Gabrielle Robin, Maddy MacDonald, Emily Hatcher and Holly Jones, thank you very much on behalf of the RMBA’s players and coaches.
